I have a 6-inch regular old goldfish who is a bit over two years old. He lives alone in a 12-gallon Eclipse tank. He recently developed a bright red swelling at the point of attachment of one of his pectoral fins. This fin is a bit gimpy due to a serious bout with fin rot over a year ago. The swelling does not seem to be open or ulcerated, and he still swims, although not as peppy as usual. He eats normally and lists to the side about 15 degrees from time to time. On the same side of his body as the red lump he has recently developed a cloudy eye, which I originally thought may be due to trauma. Could these two things be related, and if so, what can I do for them? Thank you, please help my fish, Indy!

I would recommend that you upgrade the size of the tank. Checking the water is also a good idea, noting the pH, alkalinity, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. This could be a granuloma (lump of scar tissue) from the finrot bout he had a while back. If in doubt, check you water and start medicated food.
